Romanian Academy, Iasi Branch - Instituteof Economic and Social Research, "Gh. Zane", Department of Psychology and Pedagogyinvites you to attend the International Conference entitled :

ART AND PERSONALITY - the role of artistic creation on the development of human consciousness

The session will take place on May 23, 2014, 9:00 am, in the conference hall of the Institute "Gh Zane", Iasi , str. Codrescu no.2.
The event is at the fifth edition and addresses the role of art in society, the consequences of interaction with art on personality development and the general role of artistic creativity, a defining element of the human dimension.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Outlining through specialized research thepersonality and psychosocial factors that influence the creation and after that, perception of art. We refer to important aspects of personality, such as motivation, temperament, attitudes and skills, genetic and social factors, etc.
  2. Emphasizing the active nature of the human psyche that is expressed in the creation process and reception of art, through a continuous search from the needof knowledge to the emotional diversity. The interest for art goes also from curiosity, to the need of beauty.
  3. Proposals for a new orientation in education: intervention through art in the educational process, with an important role in shaping the personality of students. Art helps us to overcome the appearances, enriches us and refreshes our perceptive register, reveals what is essential, exemplary or expressive in the world and life, having an essential,educational-formative role.
  4. The discussion of new research themes that have in the center art therapy, a modern branch of psychotherapy that helps relieve the psyhosomnaticaldisorders. Equally new is the research on the relationship between art and the phenomenon of resilience in cases of mental trauma and not only.

Papers can present, therefore, various aspects of thebinome art-personality: social-historical development, psychology of art, education through art, therapy and resilience through art.
Are invited to participate psychologists and psychotherapists,teachers, researchers and students interested in this topic.
The papers will be published in a collective volume with academic recognition. We offer nominal Diplomaforthe participation.
